Since launching in 2015, the Crain's Leadership Academy has become a sought-after, energizing and impact-driving program within the Crain's Academy suite of programs. Now offered annually, the program is part-time and presented over five Friday sessions. The 2019 session (C8) begins on August 23 and concludes October 18, 2019.
Crain's Leadership Academy offers the best of personal development, professional growth, leadership exposure and civic outreach through discovery sessions and guest CEO speakers. High performers are nominated by their CEO to participate in this exclusive program for advancing professionals poised for leadership positions within their organizations.
This unique learning experience will enable participant to grow via:
- Personal and professional development leveraging innate strengths.
- Guest speakers who provide leadership exposure and fresh perspectives.
- Civic and cultural outreach at curated discovery sessions.
- Professional network of like-minded peers from a cross section of industries and organizations to leverage during and beyond the program.
Crain's Leadership Academy is a nomination-based program now accepting applicants through August 12 for the C8 cohort. The nomination form can be found here. Once accepted, the candidate will receive a congratulatory email with a candidate form to complete.

Professionals with a minimum of seven years' experience, and/or team mangers who are on the fast track for increased responsibility at any level of an organization. The class participants will represent a wide variety of industries as well as the non-profit and government sectors.
Crain's Academy supplements personal and professional development in the classroom with guest thought leaders. These have included former Northern Trust CEO Bill Osborn, Match.com founder and serial entrepreneur Sam Yagan, Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle, Archbishop Blase Cupich (now Cardinal), Loop Capital CEO James Reynolds, CEO Howard Tullman, and Art Institute COO David Thurm.
$5,500 - includes program fee, course materials and meals.
